Liz Earle is a brand that I’ve been familiar with for years. My mum has used their products for as long as I can remember since she was first introduced to the brand on QVC. She recommended it to almost every female in my family and they, too, are now avid fans. I honestly have never known any of them to use any other brand.

Now, I’m not the best person at following a skin care routine. I’m really bad for going to sleep with a full face of make up still on and just reapplying over it the next day. I know. I’m disgusting, I’m sorry. But the last couple of weeks I’ve promised myself to clean my face on a daily basis, and so far so good. So, when I made this promise I had no other brand in mind (white lie there: I did consider Emma Hardie but I have never had any problems with Liz Earle, so why fix whats not broken?!) . I usually get the Daily Essentials, a three step skin care regime, products each Christmas, but once they’re gone, they’re gone and my mum has a habit of using them up on me. So while I wait for pay day, I’ve been using hers as payback. And I’m determined to keep it up.

The Daily Essentials kit consists of three products, all of which can be bought in a handy travel bag for £43, but bought individually can cost a bit more. The products are:

Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, suitable for all skin types.

This product is available in various sizes and in various packaging (you can choose from 100ml pump to 200 ml tube). I have the 150ml pump, which I can’t see on the website at the moment so I don’t think its available any more.

To use this product, you just apply some to your face while dry and then use a warm, wet muslin cloth (provided in the starter kits) and cleanse your face using circular motions. I’ve got to say I love this cleanser. It removes really thick make up (my face was proper done up yesterday for my brothers graduation and I had no problem removing all my make up with this, and it only took one go) and also water proof mascara. It has a gorgeous fresh smell, which I put down to the Eucalyptus, a smell I love.

Instant Skin Boost Tonic, suitable for all skin types

The second to this three-step skin care regime is this toner. Containing ingredients such as aloe vera and geranium, it, too, is light and fresh. Even when I was in a habit of not cleansing my face, I always used to use this to brighten my face up and feel fresher. It does a good job of clearing up the bits of make up the cleanser failed to remove, but I have to say it almost always has no left over make up to remove

Skin Repair Moisturiser, available in oily, normal/combination, and dry/sensitive

Now the smell of this product isn’t exactly my favourite. Its quite hard to describe but I’m going to go with musky and heavy. Saying that though it does a great job of moisturising my face; my skin has been looking excellent lately and my make up has been staying put better (might be because of my new primer that though). I’ve been using the normal/combination formula but I plan on getting the oily formula when I get it myself, as I have quite oily skin.

Even though the products are expensive they are definitely worth it. To back up my argument that it is a fantastic skin care regime I should mention the experience my uncle had with the brand. He used to work in a factory where he was exposed to a lot of sawdust everyday. As a result he developed a skin condition that was quite bad. He visited doctors and specialists and was prescribed medication and creams but nothing worked. Following the advice of my aunty, his wife, he started to use her Daily Essentials kit and soon ended up buying his own. His skin cleared up ridiculously quickly and he continues to use the products every day! Its now available for men but he still just uses the female ones. The brand really is brilliant and works wonders!
